David E. Tabet, P.G. serves as the EMD Treasurer (2011-2013). He has been a member of the AAPG since 1982, and a member of the Utah Geological Association since 1992, which he served as Treasurer in 1994 and President in 2006.
Tabet is the Manager of the Energy and Minerals Program for the Utah Geological Survey, which he joined in 1992, and conducts research on coal and coalbed gas deposits. Previously, he worked as a coal geologist for the ARCO Coal Company, New Mexico Bureau of Mines and Mineral Resources, and for clients as a consultant. His principal publications are as follows:
