Bob Trevail serves as the EMD Eastern Section Councilor. He also is the current Pittsburgh Association of Petroleum Geologists (PAPG) delegate to the House of Delegates of the AAPG. He served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Eastern Section of AAPG during the early 1990s and also served as 1st Vice President and President of the Ontario Petroleum Institute.
Trevail is an AAPG Certified Petroleum Geologist with over 30 years of experience in a variety of roles in the oil and gas industry including well-site geologist, staff geologist, geological consultant, and exploration manager. He also spent six years with the provincial regulatory agency responsible for oil and gas in Ontario, Canada. He is currently Exploration Manager for Dallas Energy, LLC and is based in Freedom, PA.
Although most of his work experience has been with conventional carbonate and sandstone reservoirs including Niagaran pinnacle reefs, Trenton-Black River hydrothermal dolomites, and Upper Devonian sandstones, recent activity in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in the Appalachian basin sparked an interest in more unconventional plays.
Trevail has a Bachelor's degree in geology from the University of Western Ontario.
